At the pupil conference, pupils across years 2 to 10 were asked ‘What makes good assessment and feedback?” Using De Bono’s hats to help focus their ideas, these are some of the comments the pupils made: · No shouting · Differentiated tests · Marbles in a jar · Certificates in assembly · Constructive comments · Talking to teachers in lessons · Targets for improvements · Assess more regularly but not through tests · Phone calls home · Every month – ‘circle time’ – one on one · One on one verbal feedback with teachers · Good and bad comments in books · Being able to go up a set |
